Bear One Another’s Burdens1Brothers,[a](A) if anyone is caught in any transgression,(B) you who are spiritual should restore him in(C) a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. 2(D) Bear one another’s burdens, and(E) so fulfill(F) the law of Christ. 3For(G) if anyone thinks he is something,(H) when he is nothing, he deceives himself. 4But let each one(I) test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor. 5For(J) each will have to bear his own load.
6(K) One who is taught the word must share all good things with the one who teaches. 7(L) Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for(M) whatever one sows, that will he also reap. 8For(N) the one who sows to his own flesh(O) will from the flesh reap corruption, but(P) the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. 9And(Q) let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap,(R) if we do not give up. 10So then,(S) as we have opportunity, let us(T) do good to everyone, and especially to those who are(U) of the household of faith.
Final Warning and Benediction11See with what large letters I am writing to you(V) with my own hand. 12(W) It is those who want to make a good showing in the flesh(X) who would force you to be circumcised, and only(Y) in order that they may not be persecuted for the cross of Christ. 13For even those who are circumcised do not themselves keep the law, but they desire to have you circumcised that they may boast in your flesh. 14But far be it from me to boast(Z) except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by which[b] the world(AA) has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15For(AB) neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but(AC) a new creation. 16And as for all who walk by this rule,(AD) peace and mercy be upon them, and upon(AE) the Israel of God.
17From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear on my body the marks of Jesus.
“Belief that you are accepted by God by sheer grace is profoundly humbling. The people who are fanatics, then , are not so because they are too committed to the gospel, but because they are not committed enough.
Think of people you consider fanatical. They’re overbearing, self-righteous, opinionated, insensitive, and harsh. Why? It’s not because they are too Christian but because they are not Christian enough. The are fanatically zealous and courageous, but they are not fanatically humble, sensitive, loving, empathetic, forgiving, or understanding–as Christ was….What strikes us as overly fanatical is actually a failure to be fully committed to Christ and his gospel.”
She is due tomorrow (via c-section) & has not picked a family yet.
Praying for God's wisdom and providence.
This Saturday is our mandatory adoption training date. Placement can happen any time after Saturday!!
Currently there are 3 pregnant minority mothers due next month and only 2 (us + 1 other) families who will take minority infants. Very sad...but, the odds of us getting matched for next month are high!! Crazy to think we could have an infant in a week or two...
Our fundraising has gone very well, thanks be to God!! We started this process in February needing to raise $12,000. We now only have $2,000 left to raise!! This is due to the generosity of our WONDERFUL friends. All of the money has to be handed in before we can have placement. We have already paid a couple of thousand for home study/home visit/application, so approx. $8,000 will be due at placement. We trust the last of the moneys will be met, but if not, we will happily walk to the bank to take out a loan!!
We cannot wait to meet and hold baby Cadenhead. In the same breath, though, my heart feels beyond heavy for the birth mother who will not have the chance to parent her child, and for this child who was not able to be raised by birth family.
